  • 8 sardines medium, in fillets
  • 1 garlic clove peeled
  • 1/2 head broccoli cut into florets
  • 200 grams whole grain pasta
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 pinch fennel seeds
  • 1 ounce almonds chopped
  • 1 lime
  • 1/2 lime
  • 1 pinch ground black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley minced

Directions

    Rinse the sardines, pat dry, and chop.

    Mince the garlic.

    Steam the broccoli until just tender. Set aside to cool.

    Cook the pasta per package instructions. Drain and set aside.

    Heat olive oil in a saucepan and add the garlic and sardines. Season with a pinch of salt and a pinch of fennel seeds and cook until the sardines are golden brown.

    Add the almonds, broccoli, and pasta. Mix carefully and add the lime juice and zest. Season with a pinch of salt, black pepper, and sprinkle with parsley to garnish.
