- 1 1/2 c. uncooked elbow macaroni 1 beaten egg
- 1/3 c. grated Parmesan
- 1/4 c. milk
- 1 lb. ground beef or lamb
- 1/2 c. chopped onion
- 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/8 tsp. nutmeg
- 3 Tbsp. butter or margarine
- 3 Tbsp. flour
- 1 1/2 c. milk
- 1 beaten egg
- 1/4 c. Parmesan cheese
Directions

1Cook macaroni, drain.

2Combine macaroni, 1 egg, 1/3 cup Parmesan cheese and the 1/4 cup milk.

3Set aside.

4Brown meat and onion in skillet; drain off fat.

5Stir in tomato sauce, cinnamon, nutmeg, 1/2 teaspoon salt and 1/8 teaspoon pepper; set aside.

6In saucepan, melt butter.

7Stir in flour and 1/4 teaspoon salt.

8Add the 1 1/2 cups milk all at once.

9Cook and stir until thickened. Remove from heat.

10Stir about half of the hot mixture into beaten egg.

11Return to remaining hot mixture.

12Stir in 1/4 cup cheese. Place half macaroni mixture in an 8 x 8 x 2-inch baking dish. Spoon the meat mixture on top, add the remaining macaroni mixture. Spread the sauce over all.

13Bake at 350° for 40 to 45 minutes. Let stand 10 minutes.
