- 2 c. flour
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2/3 c. shortening
- 6 to 7 Tbsp. ice water
Directions

1In a mixing bowl, stir together flour and salt.

2Cut in shortening until pieces are the size of small peas.

3Sprinkle 3 to 4 tablespoons of water over mixture.

4Gently toss with a fork. Add just enough water to hold mixture together.

5Divide and form each half into a ball.

6On a lightly floured surface, flatten 1 ball of the dough with hands.

7Roll from center to edge, forming a circle about 12 inches in diameter.

8Wrap pastry around rolling pin.

9Unroll onto pie plate, ease into plate being careful not to stretch.

10Trim away beyond rim of the plate.

11Roll remaining dough in same way.
