  • 1 (16 oz.) pkg. quick-cooking split peas
  • 1 1/2 c. carrots, thinly sliced
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1 1/2 c. celery, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 tsp. black peppercorns
  • 1/2 tsp. whole allspice
  • 1 bay leaf
  • salt
