  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. brown sugar
  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1 3/4 c. flour
  • chocolate stars

    Cream first 5 ingredients.

    Add egg and vanilla.

    Add dry ingredients.

    Combine with other mixture.

    Shape into balls and dip in white sugar.

    Bake at 375° for 8 minutes.

    Press star into top and return to bake 2 to 3 minutes or until light brown.

    Do not let get too dark.

    Makes about 3 dozen.
