  • 1 3/4 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 1/2 c. peanut butter
  • 1/2 c. white sugar
  • 1/2 c. brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/4 c. white sugar (hold until later)
  • 1 lb. milk chocolate candy kisses

    Mix and sift flour, soda and salt.

    In separate bowl, cream butter and peanut butter.

    Add sugars gradually; cream until fluffy.

    Add egg and vanilla; mix well.

    Add sifted dry ingredients gradually; mix well.

    Using a rounded teaspoonful of dough for each cookie, shape into balls and roll in the 1/4 cup white sugar.

    Bake on ungreased cookie sheet at 350° for about 8 minutes.

    Remove from oven; press an unwrapped candy kiss on each cookie.

    Press down firmly so that the cookie cracks around the edges, then return to oven and bake 2 to 3 minutes longer. Remove; let cool.
