- 1 c. sugar
- 1 c. light cornstarch
- 1 c. water
- 2 c. raw peanuts
- 1 stick oleo
- 1 heaping tsp. soda
Directions

1This recipe for peanut brittle is very crunchy, not hard like most.

2The reason is the amount of butter used.

3This candy will not make if raining.

4Cook sugar, syrup and water over high heat, stirring constantly until it threads, about 10 to 12 minutes. Sometimes a little longer just until it threads real good.

5Add oleo and raw peanuts; continue to cook, stirring constantly until mixture turns darker in color and the peanuts start to crack, about 10 minutes.

6Sometimes peanuts will not crack.

7At once put in 1 heaping teaspoon soda and stir well.

8Pour onto buttered cookie sheets while still foaming, spread thin.

9Let cool and break into pieces.
