Ingredients

  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1 c. white Karo syrup
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 2 sticks margarine
  • 2 c. peanuts or pecans
  • 1 tsp. soda

Directions

    Mix sugar, syrup and water in heavy pan.

    When it starts to boil, add margarine and stir often after it reaches 230°.

    Add nuts at 280° and stir constantly until mixture reaches hard crack stage (305°).

    Remove from heat; add soda and stir.

    Pour into 1 large pan or 2 medium pans and spread to cool.

    When cool, turn over and break into pieces.

    Store in airtight container.
