  • 1 c. sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 c. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/8 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1/4 c. buttermilk
  • 1 c. peeled, chopped pears
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

    Cream the butter gradually, then beat in sugar.

    Beat in eggs one at a time.

    Add to egg mixture alternately with buttermilk.
