Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 c. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/8 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1/4 c. yogurt, butter, milk or sour cream
  • 1 c. coarsely chopped cured pears
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 tsp. baking powder

    Cream butter.

    Gradually beat in sugar.

    Beat in eggs, one at a time. Combine dry ingredients.

    Add to egg mixture alternately with sour cream, yogurt or buttermilk. Stir in pears and vanilla. Pour into a 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan or 2 small loaf pans. Bake at 350° for 1 hour.
