  • 10 lb. pears (after peeling and slicing)
  • 8 lb. sugar
  • 1 1/2 oz. ginger root (whole)
  • 3 lemons
  • 3 oranges
  • 1 1/2 pt. water

Directions

    Grind oranges and lemons, using all except seeds.

    Dissolve sugar in water.

    Add all ingredients; cook until pears are clear and syrup thickens.

    Seal in jars while hot.

    Delicious on ice cream.

    Yields 10 pints.
