- 1 c. chopped pecans
- 1 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. white Karo syrup
- 1/8 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. butter or margarine
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 tsp. baking soda
Directions

1Combine pecans, sugar, corn syrup and salt in a 1 1/2-quart casserole dish.

2Microwave on High for 7 to 8 minutes, stirring well after 4 minutes.

3Add butter and vanilla to syrup, blending well.

4Microwave for 1 or 2 more minutes.

5Pecans should be lightly browned and syrup very hot.

6Add soda and gently stir until light and foamy. Pour mixture onto a lightly greased cookie sheet.

7Let cool for 1/2 to 1 hour.

8When cool, break into small pieces and store in airtight container.

9Peanuts also work well in this recipe.
