- 1 1/2 c. shortening
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 c. brown sugar, packed
- 3 eggs
- 4 1/2 c. plain flour
- 2 tsp. soda
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 2 c. chopped pecans
Directions

1Separate eggs.

2Beat whites first, then beat yolks and whites together.

3Cream softened shortening and sugars together, and eggs and vanilla.

4Sift soda and and flour together; add to mixture. Mix in pecans; form into rolls, 1 1/2 inches in diameter and 12 to 14 inches long.

5Makes about 4 rolls.

6Wrap in wax paper.

7Cut into slices and bake at 250° to 300° for about 10 minutes.

8Can be frozen for later use.
