- pastry for 1 (9-inch) crust pie
- 3 Tbsp. butter or oleo
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 3/4 c. sugar
- 3 eggs, well beaten
- 2 oz. chopped pecans
- 1 c. dark corn syrup
- 1/8 tsp. salt
- 2 oz. pecan halves
Directions

1Prepare pastry and line pie pan; set aside.

2Cream butter with vanilla, then add sugar gradually; mix well.

3Then add eggs in thirds, blending well after each addition.

4Thoroughly blend in chopped pecans along with syrup and salt. Turn into pie shell. Bake at 450° for 10 minutes, then reduce heat to 350°.

5Arrange pecan halves over top of filling.

6Continue baking 30 to 35 minutes.

7Cool on rack.
