  • 4 eggs, slightly beaten
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 c. dark Karo syrup
  • 4 Tbsp. melted butter
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 1/4 c. pecans, chopped
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 (9-inch) pie shell, unbaked

Directions

    Beat eggs slightly.

    Thoroughly mix in other ingredients. Pour into unbaked pie shell.

    Bake at 450° for 5 minutes.

    Reduce heat to 350° until pie shell is slightly brown.

    Reduce heat to 300° and finish baking.

    Bake pie approximately 40 minutes or so, until center is firm.

    Cool before serving.
