  • 110 g plain flour
  • 35 g self-raising flour
  • 90 g butter, chopped
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten
  • 200 g pecans
  • 60 g butter, melted
  • 80 ml cups golden syrup
  • 50 g brown sugar
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten
  • 2 tablespoons self-raising flour

    Sift flours into medium,rub in butter;stir in egg.

    Press mixture over base of greased 19cm by 29cm rectangular slice pan.

    Bake in moderate oven for 15 minutes,sprinkle evenly with nuts,pour over.
