  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 1/3 c. milk or half and half
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 Tbsp. butter
  • 1/3 c. chopped nuts

Directions

    Boil sugar and milk, stirring as needed to prevent curdling and scorching.

    Cook to soft ball stage (236°).

    Remove from fire. Add butter. Cool. Add vanilla.

    Beat until creamy.

    Add nuts. Pour quickly into oiled pan.

    Makes 10 to 12 (1-inch) squares.
