- 1 1/4 lb. beef top round or sirloin steak, 1-inch thick
- 1 medium onion, cut into thin slices
- 2 medium green peppers, cut into strips
- 2 Tbsp. soy sauce
- 2 medium tomatoes
- 1/4 c. vegetable oil
- 1 c. water
- 1/2 tsp. garlic salt
- 1/4 tsp. ground ginger
- 1 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 2 to 3 tsp. sugar (optional)
Directions

1Serve with rice.

2Cut beef into 1/4-inch strips (partially frozen beef, slices easier).

3Heat oil in large skillet.

4Add beef and cook about 5 minutes, turning frequently, or until brown.

5Stir in water, onion, garlic salt and ginger.

6Heat to boiling; reduce heat.

7Cover and simmer 12 to 15 minutes.

8Add green pepper last 5 minutes of simmering.

9While beef simmers, cook rice as directed on package.
