Ingredients
- 1 1/2 lb. boneless sirloin steak, cut into 1-inch pieces
- 1 Tbsp. shortening, melted
- 2 medium onions, chopped
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 c. canned, diluted beef broth
- 3 Tbsp. soy sauce
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 2 green bell peppers, cut into pieces
- 1/4 c. cold water
- 2 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 1 (10 oz.) can stewed tomatoes, undrained
- hot cooked rice
Directions

1Brown steak in shortening.

2Add onions and salt. Saute until onion is tender.

3Stir in broth, soy sauce and garlic.

4Cover, reduce heat, simmer 10 minutes.

5Add green peppers, cover and simmer 5 minutes.

6Combine water and cornstarch; stir well. Gradually stir cornstarch mixture into steak mixture.

7Cook, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens.

8Add tomatoes and cook, stirring constantly, until thoroughly heated.

9Serve over hot rice.
