Ingredients

  • 1-1/2 to 2 lb. meat (beef, venison, etc.) cut into strips
  • 2 Tbsp. oil
  • 1/4 c. soy sauce
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1/4 tsp. ground ginger
  • 2 cans diced tomatoes with liquid
  • 1-2 green peppers, cut into strips
  • 1/2 c. cold water
  • 1 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • cooked rice or chow mein noodles

    Brown meat in oil.

    Combine next 9 ingredients, and add to meat.

    Simmer until onions and peppers soften.

    Combine the cold water and cornstarch to make a paste; stir into mixture, and cook until thickened.
