- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 12 teaspoon salt
- 12-1 teaspoon pepper, coarsely ground
- 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded (4 oz.)
- 1 34 cups milk
- 1 large egg
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
Directions

1Stir together first 6 ingredients in a large bowl; make a well in center of mixture.

2Stir together milk, egg, and vegetable oil until blended.

3Add to dry ingredients, stirring just until moistened.

4Spoon batter into greased muffin pans, filling 2/3 full.
