- 12 teaspoon fennel seed
- 12 teaspoon anise seed
- 2 14 cups flour
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 12 teaspoon fresh coarse ground black pepper
- 12 cup water
- 14 cup oil
Directions

1Bruise fennel and anise in mortar and pestle or with rolling pin.

2Mix with flour, sugar, baking powder, and pepper in large bowl.

3Make well in center, add water and oil.

4Gradually draw flour in until all in incorporated.

5Knead dough on lightly floured surface until it forms a smooth ball.

6Cover with plastic and let rest for 15 minutes.

7Preheat oven to 450 degrees.

8Divide dough into 10 pieces.

9Roll each piece into an 8-inch ground.

10Place on a greased baking sheet.

11Bake until light brown- about 8 minutes, and cool.
