- 1 qt. buttermilk
- 1 Tbsp. soda
- 3/4 lb. butter
- 1 1/4 lb. sugar
- 8 eggs
- 1 large sweet potato, grated
- 1 1/2 lb. flour
- 1 Tbsp. cloves
- 1 Tbsp. allspice
- 1 Tbsp. cinnamon
Directions

1Work together persimmons, buttermilk and soda.

2Run through colander and add butter mixed with sugar, eggs and potato.

3Add flour and spices and mix.

4Bake in thin layers at 350° for 40 minutes.

5Stack while hot and serve with cream.
