  • 4 lb. small tender okra
  • 10 cloves garlic
  • 10 pods red or green hot peppers
  • 3/4 c. pickling salt
  • 1 c. water
  • 8 c. pure cider vinegar

Directions

    Wash okra, leaving short stems. Pack into ten clean, hot pint jars.

    Place pod of pepper and one clove of garlic in each jar. Combine salt, vinegar and water.

    Heat to boiling.

    Pour over okra.

    Seal jars.

    Let stand for several weeks before using. Yields 10 pints.
