  • 6 qt. whole okra
  • 1 box dill seed
  • 6 cloves garlic
  • small red pepper (fresh or dried)
  • 2 qt. white vinegar
  • 2 qt. water
  • 1 c. salt
  • 1/8 tsp. alum (to each jar)

Directions

    Wash and dry okra.

    Pack into jars.

    Add to each jar 1 teaspoon of dill seed, 1 garlic pod and 1 red pepper.

    Bring water, salt and vinegar to a boil.

    Pour the water, salt and vinegar over the okra.

    Seal and store for 4 weeks.
