  • 1 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/3 cup shortening or lard
  • 1/3 cup butter
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup very cold water
  • 1 tsp vinegar
  • 1 1/2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 egg

Directions

    In a bowl, combine the flour, shortening, butter and salt.

    Cut together until the fats are in small pea sized pieces.

    In a measuring cup mix together the cold water, vinegar, sugar, and egg with a fork.

    Add the liquids to the dry ingredients and blend with a fork.

    Form into a flattened ball.

    Dust the counter with flour and roll out the pastry.

    This pastry may be refrigerated or frozen for later use.
