  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 2 3/4 c. sugar
  • 3 c. flour
  • 1/4 c. milk
  • 3/4 c. crushed pineapple (do not drain)
  • 1/2 lb. butter
  • 6 eggs
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

    Combine shortening, butter and sugar.

    Add eggs one at a time and beat well.

    Add flour sifted with baking powder.

    Add small amount at a time, alternating with milk.

    Add vanilla and pineapple (with the juice).

    Blend well.

    Pour into greased tube pan.

    Place in cold oven, then turn on heat to 325° and bake for 1 1/2 hours.
