- 23 cup butter or 23 cup margarine
- 2 cups sugar
- 12 cup milk
- 3 cups flour
- 4 eggs
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 2 teaspoons cream of tartar
- 14 cup cornstarch
- 1 cup sugar
- 3 tablespoons orange juice
- 1 teaspoon grated orange rind
- 12 cup butter
- 20 ounces crushed pineapple in juice
Directions

1Preheat oven to 350F.

2Cream butter and sugar together.

3Add eggs one at a time, beating thoroughly after each egg is added.

4Sift dry ingredients and add alternately with the milk to creamed sugar-egg.

5Pour in two greased 8-inch tins.

6Bake for 30 to 35 minutes.

7Cool and fill.

8Filling: Put first three ingredients in a small sauce pan.

9Mix well and add the rest.

10Cook over low heat, stirring/whisking constantly until thick.

11Cool before filling/frosting cake.
