  • 2 cups DRY PINTO BEANS
  • 8 cups WATER
  • 2 tablespoons PINTO BEAN SEASONING
  • 2 teaspoons VEGETABLE OIL
  • Pinto Bean Seasoning
  • 10 Tablespoons SALT
  • 2 Tablespoons SUGAR
  • 4 Tablespoons ONION POWDER
  • 4 Tablespoons GARLIC POWDER
  • 2 Tablespoons POWDERED CUMIN
  • 2 Tablespoons GROUND BLACK PEPPER
  • 1 Tablespoon POWDERED MEXICAN OREGANO
  • 1 Tablespoon POWDERED ANCHO CHILI PEPPER

    Spread beans out over a flat surface and inspect carefully and remove anything that is not a bean. Place beans in a 4 quart pot (or larger) and wash with water, agitating with hand and then draining. Repeat this step until the water drains clear (about three times). Add water and bring to a boil. Cover and simmer for two hours. Add Pinto Bean Seasoning and oil and then simmer for 30 minutes longer.
