  • 1/2 lb. Italian sausage
  • 2 c. flour
  • 1/4 c. grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2/3 c. shortening
  • 1/3 c. plus 1 Tbsp. cold water

Directions

    Brown sausage; crumble, drain and set aside.

    Combine flour, cheese and salt.

    Cut in shortening until mixture is the size of small peas.

    Add sausage.

    Add water, a little at a time, tossing and stirring with fork until dough is moist enough to hold together.

    Shape into balls 1 inch in diameter.

    Bake on ungreased cookie sheet at 450° for 10 to 12 minutes.

    Serve hot, dipped in cocktail or pizza sauce.

    Serve on toothpicks.
