Plain Baked Custard

Ingredients

  • 2 c. scalded milk
  • 3 eggs
  • 4 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1/8 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla

Directions

    Scald milk.

    Mix sugar, eggs, salt and flavoring and combine with scalded milk.

    Pour into custard cups or baking dish.

    Set in a pan of boiling water and poach in a slow oven (300°) until firm.

    A knife blade run into the center of custard should come out clean (30 to 35 minutes if in cups).
