  • 1 plantain
  • 1 onion medium, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon chilli powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 3 cilantro /coriander leaves
  • 1/2 lime /lemon
  • salt as needed
  • oil for shallow frying
  • 2 tablespoons bread crumbs

Directions

    Boil the plantain,peel the skin and mash it nicely.

    In a mixing bowl,combine all the ingredients from onion to salt (squeeze the lime/lemon )along with the mashed raw banana.

    Divide them in to 8 equal portion.

    Take one portion and make a round ball and flatten it gently to a round patty.

    Roll the plantain patty in the breadcrumbs and shallow fry it till golden brown on both sides.

    Serve hot with ketchup.
