- 2 c. sifted flour
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 Tbsp. butter or shortening
- 2/3 c. milk
Directions

1Mix all dry ingredients together.

2Mix in shortening.

3Add milk, all at one time, then mix until all ingredients form balls. Knead lightly 2 or 3 minutes.

4Roll 1/4-inch thick.

5Cut with floured 2-inch biscuit cutter.

6Fold double and press edges together.

7Brush tops with melted butter.

8Cover; let rise in warm place for 20 minutes.

9Bake in hot oven (425°) for 10 minutes. Again, brush with butter and bake another 5 to 10 minutes.
