- 1/2 c. buttermilk
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1 c. butter
- 3 c. sugar
- 5 eggs
- 1/2 pt. sour cream
- 5 c. flour
- 2 1/4 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
- 1 lb. raisins
- 2 shot glasses whiskey
Directions

1Mix the buttermilk and 1/2 teaspoon baking soda together and set aside.

2Mix the butter, sugar, eggs and sour cream together and set aside.

3Mix the flour, 2 1/4 teaspoons baking powder, salt, nutmeg and raisins together and set aside.

4Fold flour mixture into butter mixture.

5Add buttermilk and whiskey.

6Bake at 300° in a greased and floured tube pan for 2 1/2 to 3 hours.
