- 2 sticks margarine
- 1/2 c. Crisco
- 3 c. sugar
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 5 large eggs
- 3 c. flour
- 1 c. milk
- 1 Tbsp. plus 2 tsp. vanilla butternut flavoring
- 1 c. nuts
- 1 jar maraschino cherries
Directions

1Cream sugar, shortening and salt well.

2Add eggs, one at a time.

3Add flavoring; beat well.

4Add flour and milk; end with flour.

5Coat cherries with part of flour.

6Fold in nuts and cherries.

7Grease and flour tube pan.

8Bake at 325° (cold oven) for 1 hour and 45 minutes.

9Do not open oven.

10Remove cake immediately.
