  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 2 sticks margarine
  • 3 c. sugar
  • 3 c. flour
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 3/4 c. canned evaporated milk
  • 1/4 c. water
  • 5 large eggs
  • 2 Tbsp. vanilla butternut flavoring
  • 1 c. maraschino cherries, chopped
  • 1 c. pecans, chopped

Directions

    Do not preheat oven.

    Cream margarine, shortening and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time.

    Mix in flour, salt, milk and water. Fold in flavoring, cherries and pecans.

    Bake in greased and floured tube pan at 325° for 1 hour and 45 minutes, or until done.
