  • 3 sticks margarine
  • 5 eggs
  • 2 Tbsp. butternut vanilla
  • 3 c. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. milk
  • 1 c. chopped nuts
  • 10 oz. jar maraschino cherries, chopped

    Cream sugar and shortening.

    Add eggs, 1 at a time.

    Add butternut vanilla, salt and milk alternately with flour.

    Finally add cherries and nuts.

    Start in cold oven.

    Bake at 325° for 1 hour and 45 minutes in greased and floured pan.
