  • 2 c. cake flour
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 5 egg yolks
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 can coconut (1 1/3 c.)
  • 1 c. chopped nuts
  • 5 egg whites, stiffly beaten

    Cream oleo, oil and sugar.

    Beat well.

    Add egg yolks one at a time.

    Sift flour and soda.

    Add with buttermilk and beat well. Add coconut, nuts and vanilla.

    Fold in beaten egg whites.

    Put in 3 (8-inch) layer pans, greased, and bake at 350° until brown (about 25 minutes).
