Ingredients

  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1 1/2 c. Crisco
  • 1 box raisins
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 1/2 tsp. cloves
  • 1 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
  • 2 c. cold water
  • 1/2 c. hot water with 2 tsp. soda added
  • 1 c. walnuts
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 3 1/4 c. flour

Directions

    Mix together all ingredients with the exception of the flour and vanilla.

    Bring ingredients to a boil on the stove, then set aside and allow to cool.

    When cool, add flour and vanilla; mix well.
