- 5 c. popped corn
- 2 c. sugar
- 1 1/2 c. water
- 1/3 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. light corn syrup
- 1 tsp. vinegar
- 1 tsp. vanilla
Directions

1Keep corn hot and crisp in low oven.

2Cook sugar, water, salt and corn syrup to very hard ball stage (250°).

3Add vinegar and vanilla.

4Cook to light crack stage (270°).

5Color syrup red with food coloring.

6Pour over popped corn; stir well to coat every kernel.

7Now press sticky popcorn into an angel food cake pan.

8Do not cram, just press down firmly.

9When cake is cooled, remove from pan.
