- 1 cup flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 cup milk (scant measure)
- 1 tablespoon shortening, melted
Directions

1Preheat oven to 450°F.

2Sift flour and salt together.

3In medium bowl, mix eggs, milk, and shortening. Gradually add in flour. Beat until smooth with egg whisk or electric mixer, about 1 minute.

4Pour into greased popover tins, Pyrex cups, or muffin pans to 1/3 full.

5Bake 20 minutes. Reduce heat to 350°F; bake an additional 15 minutes, until popovers are firm.
