Poppy Seed Bread

Ingredients

  • 3 c. flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 1/4 c. sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 1/3 c. oil
  • 2 tsp. almond extract
  • 1 1/2 c. milk
  • 1 1/2 tsp. poppy seeds
  • 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 3 eggs

Directions

    Grease and flour 2 regular loaf pans or 5 mini loaves. Stir together dry ingredients (first 4 ingredients) and set aside. Whip together liquids (next 5 ingredients) and stir liquid mixture into dry ingredients.

    Add poppy seeds and stir 2 minutes more. Bake at 350° for 1 hour 15 minutes until golden brown.

    Cool 5 minutes.

    Remove from pans and poke holes with toothpick.

    Drizzle with glaze.
