Ingredients
- 4 lb. beef brisket or round steak
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 Tbsp. lemon juice
- 1 minced garlic clove
- 3/4 c. chopped onion
- 1 c. tomato puree
- 1/4 c. parsley, chopped
- 4 whole cloves
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 bay leaf
- 1 tsp. sugar
- 1 c. orange juice
- 1/2 c. water
Directions

1Season meat with salt and lemon juice.

2Brown meat on all sides.

3Combine garlic, onion, cloves, parsley, cinnamon, bay leaf, puree and sugar.

4Add to beef.

5Add 1/2 cup water.

6Bring to boil.

7Reduce heat and cover; simmer 10 minutes.

8Add orange juice.
-
9Cover and simmer about 3 hours or until tender.

10If necessary, add water to keep moist while cooking.

11Makes 6 to 8 servings.
