  • 1/4 c. butter
  • 1/4 c. flour
  • 2 1/2 c. milk
  • 5 large potatoes, sliced with skins
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/8 tsp. pepper
  • 3/4 c. shredded American cheese

    Saute onion in butter.

    Cool slightly; stir in flour.

    Add milk a little at a time.
