Potato Icebox Rolls

  • 1 pkg. dry yeast
  • 1/4 c. lukewarm water
  • 2/3 c. Crisco
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. mashed potatoes, cooked in salt water
  • 1 c. scalded milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 6 1/2 c. plain flour

Directions

    Dissolve yeast in lukewarm water. Set aside.

    Mix Crisco, sugar, salt and eggs together in a large bowl.

    Add mashed potatoes and blend well. Add cooled down milk.

    Next, add yeast mixture. Add flour, two cups at a time, mixing well after each addition.

    Put in refrigerator in covered bowl.

    Let set overnight.
