  • 6 large potatoes
  • 1 carrot, finely chopped
  • 3 to 4 celery sticks, finely chopped
  • 1 large onion, finely chopped
  • 1/2 lb. bacon, fried
  • 2 qt. or more milk
  • salt
  • pepper

Directions

    Peel, cook and mash potatoes (as for mashed potatoes).

    Cut bacon into small bits and fry.

    Remove from grease.

    Cook carrot, celery and onion in bacon grease.

    Remove from grease.

    Combine all ingredients into a large pan and simmer for a few minutes.
