- 3 c. cubed potatoes
- 4 slices bacon
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 Tbsp. bacon drippings
- 1 1/2 c. boiling water
- 4 c. milk
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 Tbsp. cornstarch
- pepper to taste
Directions

1Brown bacon until crisp.

2Drain.

3Save bacon grease.

4Cook potatoes, onion and bacon grease in the boiling water until potatoes are tender.

5Add milk, salt, pepper and crumbled bacon. Heat until almost boiling.

6Mix cornstarch with just enough cold water to smooth.

7Add to hot mixture, stirring constantly, until thickened.

8Serves 8.
