- 1/3 c. minced shallots
- 3 Tbsp. butter or margarine
- 2 c. heavy cream
- 1/3 c. Gray Poupon Dijon mustard
- 1 c. shredded Gruyere cheese (4 oz.)
- 1 Tbsp. chopped fresh basil leaves
- 8 medium potatoes, peeled and thinly slices (about 6 c.)
- 1/4 c. sliced almonds, toasted
Directions

1In a medium saucepan, over medium heat, cook shallots in 1 tablespoon butter or margarine until tender.

2Stir in cream, mustard and remaining butter or margarine.

3Simmer for 5 minutes. Reduce heat to low; add 1/2 cup shredded cheese and basil, stirring until cheese melts.
