- 2 lb. boiling potatoes (about 5)
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 3 Tbsp. butter
- 1/4 lb. Swiss cheese (about 1 c. grated)
- 3/4 c. chicken stock
Directions

1Heat oven to 425°.

2Butter a 1 1/2-quart gratin or baking dish.

3Peel potatoes and cut into 1/8-inch thin slices.

4Spread half of them in prepared dish.

5Sprinkle with half the salt and pepper.

6Cut butter into small pieces and dot top of potatoes with half the butter.

7Add the rest of the potatoes, salt, pepper and butter.

8Top with the cheese.

9Pour in stock.

10Bake until golden and bubbly, about 40 minutes.

11Let potatoes stand 10 minutes. Yield: 6 servings.
