- 1 red cabbage
- 2 Tbsp. bacon fat
- 1 medium onion
- 2 green apples
- 1 Tbsp. lemon juice
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- salt to taste
- pepper to taste
Directions

1Cut cabbage up small.

2Place the bacon fat into a pot.

3Chop onion fine.

4Heat pot and when bacon fat is hot, put in the chopped onion.

5Add the finely chopped cabbage and cook for 30 minutes without water.

6Add the apples, which have also been chopped; add the lemon juice and sugar.

7Salt and pepper to taste and allow this to cook for 30 minutes more, turning it over occasionally with a spoon.

8Serve at once.
